Hi Martin,

I can endorse everything said to date.  Bought my 928 two and a half years
ago as my (only) everyday car and my only regret is that I didn't do it
sooner.  

Yes - I do spend more on petrol, tyres, insurance and servicing, but before
the 928 I used to buy a new family saloon every three years or so.  The
depreciation alone was approaching what I paid for the 928 and I won't be
changing her after three years!!!  I haven't kept a detailed record of
running costs, but I do about 10k a year and I reckon it is costing no more
than I was spending before.  If, as I expect, I keep the 928 for a good few
years I will be running a supercar for much less than a family hatchback
(even allowing for some big unplanned bills) and that can't be bad!

As others have said, take your time, take some expert advice and you will
end up with a good reliable car that you can use every day AND you will have
a big stupid grin on your face every time you use her!  Seriously consider
an automatic for an every day car.  The manual may be great in country lanes
but not quite so much fun when stuck in the inevitable traffic jams.

Just wondering who uses their car as an everyday driver.

Once (not if !) I finally get a car I'll be keeping it as a second vehicle.
The fact that I NEED a car for work and life in general means that I would
be too nervous about using the 928 every day.
