Hi David,

I know it might sound stupid but check the alternator fan blade is not
catching on your new oil pipe, did this on my 83S and it sounded like a
very fast tapping from the top of the engine, only found it looking from
underneath, other than that can't think of anything offhand.

How much was the set of lifters and where from if you don't mind me
asking?
