[928uk] Serious worry - Help please!!

I think it is the return overflow from the expansion tank. Looking at 
the PET there is a plastic breather arrangement that is effectively a 
one way valve to allow excess coolant back into the system. This plastic 
valve is fitted into the red via an 'O' ring. Either the ring has 
failed, or the plastic housing has failed. The 'O' ring is part 999 701 
651 40. The valve is 928 106 444 01

Either way you should not need a new rad
