Welcome Peter, On subject of Simon Taylor; I did not know that he owned a
928. I watched him with interest as he had a Kougar at one point, because I
have one too......
Simon's Kougar used to belong to a chap called Beech whose missus modified
the front end a bit at the Brighton speed trials. It ended up with a fresh
nose and looked just like an HWM-Jaguar! Sorry not exactly local to
Colchester, being retired here in Ceredigion.....................However do
take note of the good advice that you may be offered by some of my erudite
colleagues of the List. Learn and appreciate the problems with the later
Auto cars that have a built in self-destruct mechanism that one really would
not expect of Dr Porsche! Also be aware of the importance of prompt timing
belt replacement. Take a List member with you to look at any car;there is
bound to be someone near you .Do not buy the first car that you see. Happy
motoring. Mike (T reg)

I have just joined the mailing list having just discovered the terrific
website-well done you guys! I have yet to buy the car of my dreams having
been an admirer of this great car for some time but hope to buy once we have
finished building our new home-(anyone want our existing very des res near
Colchester-ideal for commuting to the smoke) sorry-must keep to the subject!
Sometime ago Simon Taylor of Autocar fame wrote an article about his
beautiful blue 928 reg WUF something. He later swapped it for a newer one
but I am interested to know if it is still about -maybe ownd by a member?. I
think the colour and special wheels set it off really well.
If any of the owners in the Colchester area wish to make contact please
do-we could meet up at one of the many pubs in our area-Shoulder of Mutton
in Assington is favourite if you fancy a run out.
  Best wishes
  Peter Hore
