hi all.
im having problems getting anywhere with my 928s project,i brought the car
about 3 weeks ago which was advertised with a cylinder head gaskit
blown,(lots of oil was in the water!).after help from you guys and a bit of
investigation it turned out to be rad.,so i bypassed the oil cooler ,put blanks in the
rad,connected the battery,and turned the key,but alas nothing happened.great
electrical problems.the fault was traced to the inhibitor switch on the
automatic gear selector which is easy enough to bypass for the time being.but
before trying to start the engine i thought i had better see what condition it was
in. i done a cylinder pressure test which showed a 50% loss though the
piston rings.at this point i asked a friend for advice and after severial
hypthosis we came to the conclusion that the car had'nt been run for approx 4 years
(service history).and the loss was comming from gummed up piston rings,
does anyone know a way of freeing these off ?
the rad is now off for repair but i think it has also breached into the
transmission cooler.
whats the best way of draining the transmission system ?
thanks chris
