Angus,
I hope you have been well and trust you had a great time at Beaulieau.
Well, from what I know you'll need to get a Vehicle speed pulse(input) from
the car in order to make your Sat Nav work. Thus on most of cars easy way
to get that is from ABS sensor as it will pick the pulse from the wheel.
In case of 928, you can get a Speed Pulse from various locations. You must
first choose the location where you are installing the Sat Nav.
If in Dash, the probably the best location is from the behind the meter
panel. If your car is after 89 model (89 inclusive), then you should be
able to get a speed pulse from Plug No. 4, 6th wire which is colored Brown
with Green stripe. If before 89, center connector (there are 3), 4th line
from the bottom of the connector colored Brown with Red stripe.
If you are putting the Nav unit in the rear such as in the luggage
compartment or in the center glove box between the 2 rear seat, then there
should be a Triangular plastic box near the spare tire compartment. In it,
there are 2 lines that are Brown with Red line, one is the speed pulse. You
need to try and error, but it wouldn't cause any problem by doing so. This
applies to cars between 89 to 90 Models.
Also, you can get it from the Fuse Box which maybe easier than behind the
meter panel. for the models to 90, On the right side, there is 26 pin
connector, of which is Brown with Red stripe. This is the one to get a
speed pulse.
For 91 to 95 models including GTS, there is connector P to the fuse box. No
15 line is Brown with Red stripe which would provide you with Speed Pulse.
I hope this helps.
cheers,
Nobu ASAI

Sat-Nav???
The kick back from those DVD sales must have been very good for you to
afford that!!
There is someone on the GB list that has just fitted one to his 928 so he
can help you with technical issues that you have.
I suggest that you join or if you like I could cross post for you :o)

Im getting a Sat Nav in dash unit at the weekend.
the instructions I read over the shoulder of the expensive dealer Im
not buying it from said 'connect the speed sensor cable to pin 1 of the
ABS'
Does this make any sense to anyone or should I get someone to fit it
for me... Any Surrey recommendations?
Angus
