Hi Scott,
Ah last summer, I remember it well.......
I understand the 928 sabbatical all too well. Why not sell the Gt and buy an early car......best of both worlds!
As far as my stable is concerned, the 911 stays and is complimented by the 928 (positively encouraged by the wife who has claimed the new 928!!!). I had to trade down from my original aspirations of a GTS but hell, it's not everyone who enjoys the dual pinnicals of Porsche's 1980's high!
Good luck and thanks for your kind words.
regards
Jon

Welcome back Jon!
I may be going on a '928 sabbatical' myself with my blue '91 GT up for sale in earnest now (2 kids + 3rd on the way plus associated increasing expenses/lack of time). You met my eldest at the Gatwick meet you organised (he was the one that wanted to throw all the switches in the Shackleton!!), so until he is 'more grown up' (along with all the following babies!) I think I'll have to put my "buy an old timer 928" project on hold.
I've really gotten into the older cars during my GT ownership - especially the Pasha interior, teledial alloys and 'clean' (bump-strip-less) shape... so I will return too!
I just need to sell my GT first (& have a sabbatical)...
Anyway - hope you have lots of fun with your S2 - and that your wife isn't offended that your "super-Beetle" wasn't "enough"!! (2 cylinders short!!) I'm sure everyone will be keen to do another "Gatwick meet" at some point too!
Cheers,
Scott '91 GT

Well guys,
I'm back.....told you it would not be long!......While you guys were off playing with your toys in deepest Hampshire today, I completed a deal on a replacement 928 (well, six months is a long time to be 928 less).
I'd missed my planned activity for the weekend - which was the SE Tipec WOTY to the west Country...I'd planned to drop in to the meeting today on my return....but work and Marks & sparks (we all have the strangest of masters) conspired to keep me in Bill Robertson land until yesterday (Scotland for those who have yet to meet Bill...although there cannot be many). So I used today productively to view a few potential cars.
I've ended up with a 1985 S2 auto in blue (don't ask me which blue yet) but it starts, stops and is MOT'd and taxed. It's got a few road rashes and a few scabby bits of paint to deal with, but is in pretty good fettle (at least in comparison to the 928's I usually buy). Photo's will follow later - I pick the car up tomorrow evening so will try to get a few pictures then.
So, batten down the hatches...another Jeffryes excuse for a supercar rumbles into view...now where did i put Paul Andersons telephone number.
Great to be back!
