Costco are doing all 4 Michelins for ?550 fitted (17" wheels). Not a bad
deal if you want Michelins and worth the ?20 joining fee.

Subject: [928uk] RE: Tyres

I know this has been done to death, but to shed some further light on
investment/cost options, I note that the difference in V rated versus Z
rated is about 25-50 pounds per tyre, V rated is up to 149mph and Z being
anything over 149mph. Seems many are happy running V rated and others Z
rated. Insurance companies I guess are not all that concerned as long as
you're driving minimum manufacturer's recommendations. Any opinions on Z
over V rated tyres?

As an example, the trusty and cheap (good value) Kumho ECSTA 712 at one end
cost approx. 260 pounds fitted for a full set (225x50x16 & 245x45x16) and
Goodyear Eagle F1 GD's at 460 pounds. The Goodyear Eagles are also highly
rated and come with the number one recommendation of the Subaru Impreza
club. You can obviously Michelin 3X your wallet into nearly 700 pounds as
well and they are official tyres. Toyo Proxes T1s are about the same as the
Goodyear Eagles. A chap recently gave me very strong words in favour of
the Eagles over everything else including Toyo, Contis, Bridgestones, etc.

BTW, regarding the standard factory fitted Boges or optioned Bill Stein's,
for road work the Boges are just fine and can be bought and installed by Dr
Paul at a "why go anywhere else" price. Just remember to get suspension
geometry at the same time, a standard practice with Dr Paul.
