David -
There are 3 likely water entry points on the 928 'rump':
1. via the studs (1 per cluster, with big silver hex nut) that hold the rear
light clusters in place
2. via the wiper arm entry points (look for any water tracking marks on
underside of hatch where wiper arm spindles come through)
3. via the hatch key barrel
Best test is to remove toolkit, dry any dampness off, close hatch, spray
rear of car with lots of water, let it drain off, open hatch & look for
water ingress in corners at light clusters or on the carpet above toolkit
position just inside the hatch rubber seal. Also check inside bottom edge of
hatch for any source of water ingress.

2) I also note that the foam insulation behind/below the rear tools cover is
damp - is this a known condensation problem down the rear window - or a
byproduct of my heavy breathing while trying to find out how I should fit
the 3rd brakelight mentioned above......... ?
