The problem is not so much the Clutch Release Bearing, which should be 
relatively easy to change because it is very easy to access the clutch; the 
real problem is that early manual gearboxes suffer badly from synchro 
problems so you would never know what the failed clutch is masking until too 
late. 

BTW Bert Gear is charging approx £100 plus VAT for an '87 release bearing, 
I checked before getting a used one for £30 from 928 Int.
