Hi guys,
I hope you can help i am currently looking at buying a 1983 4.7 928 with a manual 5 speed box from a friend firstly its been owned by him for 13 years and has only covered 7000 miles in that time it is currently showing 62000 miles with all the old mot's to prove the mileage he has spent over £27.000 on the car since he bought it, it has been repainted yellow with genuine Porsche s4 front bumper and 2 rear spoilers and a lower splitter at the rear like on the 944 turbo. The interior is unbelievable as my friend is a vehicle trimmer by trade he learnt at AC cars so its all grey leather with yellow piping leather roof lining and door cards and the dashboard completely covered in grey suede. so the inside is like brand new completely rewired so all the electrical gremlins are gone.New brakes, exhaust, tyres, all the belts changed, tinted glass all round and registered on a private plate so as you can see the car is very good but my dilemma is the price i think i could get the car for £7000 or at the death £8000 but as that is right at the top of my price range i wanted to know if that was a good price i know its hard to value on a description but i can only say for a 21 year old car its exceptional. The only things wrong are the air con is not working correctly and the bonnet and boot support pistons are to weak to hold either of them up, the viscous fan is also faulty and works intermittently and that is about it.
One last thing he has always run the car on leaded and now lead replacement fuel would this car not cope with unleaded or at least super unleaded. Many thanks for your help and you never know i might be joining you very soon. Just purely out of interest i currently run a 1982 GRINNALL TRIUMPH TR8 DHC.
