[928uk] All my own fault - battery woes!

I had the same problem with my car, left it for 2 weeks when I went
skiing, but the weather was very cold while I was away, as a result the
battery was completely flat, charged it for over 24hrs. The battery
still did not have any life (the battery was only 6 mths old), but gave
it to a friend with an industrial charger. At first still would not
accept any charge, but after a few hours it recovered and 'touch wood'
has worked ever since.

Hope this helps

5 weeks ago my battery packed in, so I fitted a new Bosch Silver.
Thinking
this would be okay I then left it in the garage for another five weeks
without starting. No battery conditioner (idiot).
Trying to start yesterday didn't work. Enough power for the radio & dash

lights but no crank at all, just clicking (solonoid?). Charged her for 8

hours, no change.

So the questions are:
1. Is this what should be expected given my foolishness?
2. What should I do next?

As ever all advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Owen
