Well I have owned my 928 GT for fourteen months now and apart from
replacing the MAF it has been pretty straight forward ownership (apart
from being keyed in Liverpool!). Although I use the car as a 2nd car I
have tried to use it on a regular basis, but I returned from holiday
recently to fire the beast up and the battery has as flat as a pancake.
The cold/freezing weather had actually killed the battery, so I have
bought a new Bosch Silver.
The problem occurred when I connected the new battery, the
alarm/immobiliser worked and the dashboard fired up ok, but when I
turned the key the starter motor kicked in and the engine seemed to run
for a split second then died. I tried this a few times but no change,
the car has normally always started first time with no problems. Any
advice would much be appreciated. Sorry the description is not very
detailed/technical, I will try starting the car again this weekend and
post any further details on Monday.
Fingers Crossed
Luke
PS what is the correct procedure for disconnecting/connecting the
terminals on a battery because I have been told three different ways!
Can it cause any damage connecting the terminals in the wrong order?
