Simon,

At th e base of the arm where the wiper mounts to the spindle is a black
plastic cap, lift this up and you will see a 13mm af nut . Make sure the
wipers are parked, ie off and then tighten this nut up this should lock the
wiper back onto its spindle and normal service should be resumed.

Regards,

Paul Anderson.

Subject: [928uk] Loose windscreen wiper arm

  Hi there,

This is my first plea for help on the mailing list, but I'm sure someone
has useful advice. My S2 got a bird strike at the weekend, which physically
bent the wiper blade! I replaced this, but there seems to be something loose
in the wiper arm mechanism too. The drivers side arm keeps either slipping
(i.e. not moving from the bottom of the screen) or getting stuck vertical at
the end of its travel. Was a bit of a nightmare today trying to drive with
no driver's side wiper. I kept stopping to push it back down, and then it
would work for a few times before slipping again.

So, how do I go about clamping it down again? I looked under the bonnet,
but the motor seems to be mounted inside the wing. Do I need to do any major
disassembling to get to it? Hope not, as its my daily driver for now and I
need to use it tomorrow!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give,

  Simon
