The amp is beside the passenger seat under the panel by the door with 
the boot release button.

Its a Blaupunkt, as are the speakers. How things have moved on! It had 
8pin Din connectors and 2 pin din speaker connectors. Originally your 
stereo would probably have been a Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46. The 
speakers too are cheap and nasty and min had all but disiintgrated. 
There are crossovers in the speakers in the rear and in the doors. You 
have to take the doors apart completely to get to the retaining screws 
and nuts in a typically teutonic unreasonably solid piece of 
engineering for something they presumed would never be removed!

When I asked in a shop about din adaptor cables it was like asking for 
a Gramophone in a sketch from years ago - the people in the shop all 
fell about.

Replacing them all is a nasty job if you do the wiring too as I have. 
Its VERY hard to get the wires out, and through the door wiring sleeve 
and mine still makes an alternator hum Im needing to look into.

If I was doing it again I might take it to a pro with about two 
thousand quid and say fix it please....

But instead I buy things off ebay and experiment - its cheaper and more 
fun - there are loads of speakers, amps, cables, etc etc....
