You should be safe on German Plates, Benelux is a different matter, they
have a close tie up with DVLA, and like me speeding on the ring in Antwerp
I had a letter to attend court in Belgium, sent to my home here in the UK.

I went past one in Maidenhead twice with my er um 'german look' 
plates....
