David,
this could start a great debate!

Personaly I am a member of TIPEC (independant Porsche enthusiasts club), although I think you will find a mixture of both on this list. I joined the Scottish region as I was looking for owners of 928's who would be able to offer me advise and assistance localy. Unfortunately there, until recently, were no other 928 owners.

However I have spoken to many people who are mebers of both clubs and can find pros and cons for both.

In my area there are many more active mebers of TIPEC than PCGB, who are interested in organising activities etc. This suits me, although I can see the appeal of PCGB as they have the official events through PGB (not to mention official track days, although either club will organise these). Localy PGB is not overly interested in any Porsche owners unless of course you have a recent model car.

Perhaps you could attend one of each clubs local event without joining, to get a flavour of how you might fit in and benefit from membership.

Regards
Steve
