[928uk] Starter Motor

There's no earth lead on the starter. There's one heavy lead from the
battery, and another that goes to the alternator (and subsequently to the
rest of the electrics). Both of these fit on the same terminal. Then there's
a 4 sq mm wire from the starter relay, and on early cars there's a 1.5 sq mm
wire to the ignition. These fit on their own terminals, and I think are
different sizes to avoid mixing them up.

If you are up to it, take apart the solenoid and clean the contacts, if you
aren't confident that you will get it back together, just lubricate around
the gear and the pivot on the lever which engages the gear.

earthing lead connected - because of the limited light under there while
removing it, it looked like it had come from the same terminal. Anyone tell
me where it goes?
