Strange choice of sizes. For an 80 ( non-S) I would expect 215/60x15, for an
S it would be 225/50x16.
Tyre pressures for these are 2.5 bar (36 psi) fronts, and 3 bar (43 psi)
for the rear, except for a non-S on 16s where the book says 2.5 bar.
The things to look out for when adjusting tyre pressures are:
reducing the pressure and the tyres becoming too hot, (hot to the touch)
grip is lost as the tyre surface "melts", this can be dangerous as the tyre
can fall apart.
increasing the pressure, tyres stay cold, getting less grip, and giving a
skittish feel.
Too low or too high can result in less grip
For my 1980 S, on 225/50x16 tyres, I run 31psi front and 38 rear in the
winter, putting them up to 36/43 for long journeys in the summer.
