Dear all,
Hope everyone had a nice break.
Just need confirmation before I start down a road un-necessarily..
Took the shark out for a spin this morning only to find that after about
20mins the temp. needle had climbed to around 100C. Stopped the car, let it
idle, no sign of fans cutting in..Checked both Rad 1 & 2 fuses, and also
fuse for control fan unit, all OK. Let the car cool down for about 3 hours
and then made a dash for home, about 2 miles away. Again, temp. needle
climbing up. A little bit of boil over from the Degas bottle..
Top of the radiator was warm as well as the top hose. Return hose slightly
warm. Is this the sign of a faulty Thermostat or failed water pump? My bets
are on the thermostat. Is this fairly easy to replace. I am struggling to
find a guide as to what is involved if this needs doing! Just my luck, was
planning to drive this upto Paul Anderson for a service.
Find that if AC is eelected the fans do come on then.
Guidance/advice welcome as always,
Nadeem
