hair-brained stupidity I think. The bleach will damage the cover and it
will fall apart in time. You won't be able to dye it a light colour with
any degree of consistency.
As it happens I am having my cover fixed right now by an old lady who is
just demon with a sewing machine. She is going to stitch on another
complete piece of material over the damaged and faded section that is
exposed to sunlight. I'll let you know how she gets on.
