Congratulations!
Anodizing is a surface etching process using an electrolytic salt bath,
and is generally used for protecting aluminium in an industrial
environment. It is also used for 'prettifying' components in the car and
other areas. Anodizing is only microns thick and will scratch quite
easily, especially the likes of wheels - If you had then anodized red
and washed them you would have scratch marks in no time. It is also
bloody expensive
Realistically wheels are polished and then Lacquered - salt will get
under the lacquer eventually, but if the job is done well it will last a
number of years. If you really have deep pockets, anodize and lacquer
after. Probably cost the same as a new set of wheels though!
Incidentally, Porsche used to dip the Fuchs wheels (911) in black paint
until the centre spokes had just been covered, then lacquer the lot, so
if you took the tyre off the wheel would be half ally and half black!.
