Yup, Right hand side as you stand in front of the car. The left hand one 
is for the gauge. I haven't replaced it yet - just messing with the plug 
seems to have fixed the connection. (We put a scope between to monitor 
the two signals)
I don't have a problem with taking the plenum off - I wanted to change 
the duff knock sensor anyway, and it would be daft to pay a garage to do 
just that job, plus, as you say, I learned a whole lot ( I have about 50 
digi pics of the job I will get round to sorting at some stage). Also 
the Idle stabiliser was quite cruddy and could have been causing some 
problems on its own
