For Sale: 1992 Porsche 928 GTS, Grand Prix White/Black Leather 42k miles

The "Great White Shark" is for Sale!
  • 42,891 miles (69,024kms).
  • 12 months MOT.
  • UK Registration number INZ 7953.
  • White body, black leather interior - beautiful!
  • Right Hand Drive.
  • 5,397cc - V8 - 340bhp - 171mph
  • Spare wheel and boot is like brand-new!
  • Three previous owners. I bought it from a Doctor.
  • Completely Factory Stock - no 'upgrades' (none needed!)
  • No accident damage.
  • Bodywork good, sent for professional Polishing/valleting last week - looks brand new!
  • Originally exported to Hong Kong where she lived for 10 years. Hong Kong is an extremely small ex-Brit Colony where cars never do high mileage, are garaged, and well maintained.
  • Is now stored in a heated garage.
  • Service History - confirmed to have had no problems or accidents by Porsche Hong Kong. Serviced by them.
  • Factory alarm.
  • She has been Serviced recently, everything is perfect, and passed the MOT with no problem.
  • New tyres fitted recently by Porsche - still as new, only 500miles max on them.
  • Engine compartment is bone dry (no oil leaks)
  • The car starts first time every time, drives superbly, and has been extremely reliable in my five years of ownership. She has been Serviced regularly.
I have used her as a weekend car, never used her for commuting, and certainly never raced or taken her to the Track! I'm off working abroad again so she sits in a Garage not being used - a real waste ... therefore regrettably it is time to sell.

No disappointments with this one! Price is GBP16,500.oo.

Jerrys first Race 2007 PDF Print E-mail
this weekend the new race season starts in the Belcar Historic. The rules have been changed which means there are only two classes now instead of three, so the competition has gotten even tougher. The new rules also ban Hoosier tires so i'm back to the Pirelli P Zero Corsa's. I had ordered Kumho V70A's but they haven't arrived yet so qualifying today was done with the Pirelli's while the other Porsches were pretty much on Michelin or Kumho, both of which are softer compounds.

Qualifying went well on a dry track with 15°C. It did take about 15 minutes for my tires to get to temperature so i finally managed to squeeze in a good lap, 2 laps before the chequered flag. This puts me in 8th position (out of 32) on the grid for tomorrows race. In front of me i have 3 911's, 2 lotusses, 1 BMW and 1 Camaro. Except for the first and second placed guys, we're all within 2 seconds of each other so it's going to be a serious fight tomorrow!

after the good qualifying yesterday, it was racing time this morning.

I had a decent start, i lost one place to an Escort RS but managed to push past the Camaro and overtake the RS again before the first lap was finished. It kept going well although the car was pretty "loose" in the rear (thanks to the Pirelli's). After a lap or 4 the Escort passed me again and shortly after that the Camaro did as well. I started pushing for the Escort and was closing in when suddenly, coming out of turn 3 (a fast right hander), the rear broke out at about 150kph. I couldn't catch her and we slammed into the wall, after which i was catapulted into the middle of the track. I was unharmed, but the car is a wreck. Possibly damaged beyond repair (i'll post some pics on my site shortly and the in board video on youtube).

Jerrys 928 crash at Zolder

Question now is; what do i do? I have invested too much time and money buying racing bits to let it go to waste, besides the engine wasn't damaged (it was still running after the impact) and it's a good one. Since the chassis is bent, i guess my best bet is to look for a 928 with a good chassis/body but with a bad or no engine and add all my racing bits to it. If anyone has any ideas or has one like that lying around, please let me know.

Next race isn't until June and i'd like to be at the start of that one in a 928.

Thanks, Jerry
