Last weekend we opened the new Belcar series in Belgium at Spa Francorchamps. I run in the Belcar Historic division with my 928.Qualifying didn't go too well because of a technical problem. I only managed to put in 3 laps on a still relatively wet track. This resulted in 19th position on the grid out of 25 cars. Pretty disappointing.

The race itself went a lot better. Fortunately we were able to repair the car and continue the race. Starting out in 19th position i had already passed 5 cars at the top of Raidillon. The straight line speed of the 928 was a lot higher than most of the others so the long straight Raidillon was ideal for overtaking them. The stability of the car with the new suspension and the Pirellis is fenomenal, so even though i had never raced at Spa before, i did manage to run at the same pace as the other Porsches (except for 1 a 911 RSR 3.0). I finished in 8th place in general and 3rd in my class after a 25 minute race so needless to say i was very satisfied. First race, first podium of the season.

Next race is in Zolder on the 21st of May. I'll let everyone knowhow it goes.
