Dear Andy,
As you know the 928 went out of production in 1995, and it continues
to gain appreciation as a classic car.
Unfortunately for us all 928s look to be charged the extortionate
fee to drive into London.
Most 928 owners run their cars on a budget and do much of their own
servicing and maintenance.
Our cars are very green in as much as the 928 continues to offer
excellent emissions and safety credentials, and as Im sure I don't
need to tell you the fact that so many of these older models are on
the road is in itself goodness because these cars have already been
constructed which is the most resource consuming part of their carbon
footprint. The longer we keep these cars on the road, recycling parts
from cars that cannot any longer remain serviceable the better it is
for our conservation of resources. We also continue to buy spares from
Porsche which has the foresight to keep parts available to help us in
our goal of keeping these masterpieces alive.
This draconian measure will cause enthusiasts to be simply unable to
keep these fine cars anymore.
Surely living in Britain shouldnt need to be like this.

Ive reported Warwickshire Police to the Information Commissioner for failing to
respond within the statutory time limit to my information request under the
freedom of information act. I also reported it to Warwickshire Police as a
complaint.
"Thank you for completing this form. Your response is appreciated. For future
reference, the serial number corresponding to your submission is
making_a_complaint_form7725185."
I expect they will take more notice of the office of the ico than the web form
will of me.
Ragley - Warwickshire Police Information FOIA Complaint
"I have reported you to the information commissioner because I made an online
FOIA request on your website (Request for info confirmation number FOI7605444
received from the website) to find out about traffic planning for the Porsche
Festival which recently took place at Ragley Hall and caused traffic chaos in
Evesham and the surrounding area. There has been no reply, so I made another
online request (Request for info confirmation number FOI1090704 received from
the website).
I called on Friday 19th October (01926 415000) at about 4:40pm and was told by
reception that they did not think there was an online FOIA process on the
Warwick Police Website. I explained that I had the confirmation numbers and
didnt much care whether they thought there was one or not and asked to be put
through to the responsible person.
I was put through to someone in 'standards and practices' who
took down all the details and promised me that someone in
charge of freedom of information would get back to me.
I reminded the person that there was a duty to reply within 28 days or so.
They asked if I might have called earlier and I explained that in 2007 with
two written web confirmations it should not be necessary to call back.
They promised me that someone, would contact me.
I am still waiting and felt I had to report them to the ICO because they have not
responded within the time limit despite me submitting a further online request
then telephoning to follow up and being put off by the reception and clearly not
having had my issue escalated properly to ensure its dealt with.
Its not that its the worlds most serious issue. I just want to know to let my
community of Porsche owners who feel badly let down by the organisers know what
happened and I have the right to be dealt with properly in the timeframes under
the FOIA.
Please investigate. (PS I am writing on behalf of my website, 928.org.uk, a
community of interest of 560 Porsche 928 owners and all information may
ultimately be published there.)" |

"I am looking for one of the later GTS's preferably metallic, I note that there aren't any for sale on the site at the moment but wondered if it was possible to put a note on the site that if anyone is looking to sell a GTS with recent service history etc could they please contact me."
If you are thinking of selling your GTS why not put it on the site. Buyers waiting! |

I am writing to you with regard to the Porsche 928 Buying Guide feature that you helped me to compile in late 2005 for Classic Cars Magazine.
I am pleased to inform you that the feature was approved late last year and has now been published. It features in current issue of Classic cars Magazine. The magazine has a Lotus Elise on the cover, it is the February 2007 issue and is in the shops now.
Thanks again for all of your help in compiling the Porsche 928 Buying Guide feature.
Yours,
Tom Williamson. |
